TT. u gotta understand. fighting isnt just fighting bro. and MMA is a SPORT. why would m-1 or anyone putting on a huge multi-national event want to pay some guy who will probably get out ther and slammed into unconciousness?
if his ground was good they would have looked past his muay thai. if his muay thai was good and his ground lacking a bit, they would have probably looked past it. the guy said, ITS ALL BAD.
i really think all the negative feedback for people in favor of this still goes back to peoples ignorance of whats going on in this sport.
it isnt just a bunch of aggressive, weight lifting, meat head guys who love to fight and spar alot fighting in a cage.
no matter what your oppinion of the guys in these big events u have to understand how good they are. they are damn good. damn good. they all have weaknesses but they are GOOD. if you look at the background of the lesser known guys youd be ASTOUNDED by their accomplishements and if not then your just a hater imo because the things these guys go through to get to that level is just sick. |

ok, well, I didn't see that there was a part where he got to show his ground game, or lack thereof. If that is the case, again, nevermind.
I have alot respect for the sport and its players, and I understand what they are accomplishing. No argument from me on any of this.
Frankly, I think MMA is the best thing to happen to Martial Arts since Ralph Macchio.
ok, I couldn't think of a since example....it's 2am... _________________ 'My Gung-Fu is MY Gung-Fu. It may not be YOUR Gung-Fu"

Laukarfei is in the lead so far with more enthusiasm and stats to back it, but don't worry, Ten...
This new generation just has no idea of what goes into the making of a Bruce Leibowitz, or of an "Iron Moyel"!
As for me, can someone please let me know next time there is an Anti-Ching Military tribunal to be held, I want to try out for the position of "Captain of the Spear Brigades"!
Best,
Michael |

Thanks brothers for all your comments. I probably didn't see a posting but I don't see anything about why chinese martial arts including hungkyun doesn't have something as ground fightting techniques as similar as jujitsu, judo, wrestling, sambo or similar real fighting situations. I understand most of the practitioners will avoid any fall or wrestle but what if you fall, accidents happen, and then you have to get up and you have someone who may be heavier than you and knows how to choke or punch once you are in the ground. I also understand that during those times and even today once you know how to use a weapons, including knife, sword or stick then you will use it for survival. Once again the question is why not something as judo since most of chinese martial arts have loan something from someone or some style.
Thanks again,
Mig |
